FIERCE IS HERE: Season 3 of GG is back

Posted by: kaidelacruz on: September 15, 2009

Gossip Girl Season 3 is back.

I can’t even being to tell you where this seasons style has gone.

Maybe I can? I think, or I believe it went form Gucci riches to Bohemian earthly loves.  There were a number of REALLY NICE LONG DRESSES this season premiere.

Before I display GORGEOUS fashion this season, I just want to relay a little bit of  information about this season premiere.

Reversals of Fortune: Secrets revealed and new loves bloomed.  It’s hard to believe an entire summer has passed by with the cast of Gossip Girl.  And to think, we’d believe that they’ve all matured and somewhat gained the mind of a post-high school graduate. BOY were we ever wrong about that.  The same ol’ attitudes and the same ol’ characters.  We can’t escape the fact that they will have almost the same mentality as they did the past 2 season.  It’s an understatement …

It just seems like relationships have blossomed everywhere.  Blair and Chuck play their “relationship” game and Serena hide her relationships like she always does.  I’m not shocked that this will all become a scandal soon… or drama will seep out for sure.  Outside of relationships, it looks like this season will be molded around the relationship Lilly and Rufus’ son will try to make or start.  It’s gonna be an interesting season… I can already tell.

Alright, that was boring. So how about some pretty, oh so gorgeous fashion? I think I’m ready to reveal some pictures via: cwtv.com

Isn’t this beautiful.  More Bohemian long dresses. I can’t even start to talk about how beautiful the bust area is.  The way it accents the area and not to mention the colors. Wow.  It’s so 70’s yet super retro. It’s just amazing… GIRL YOU WEAR AND FLAUNT IT!

Bohemian Love

FS Bohemian LoveDO you see that U shape neck? Just beauts! & the purple that accents the white background of the dress. I just wish I was tall enough to make a long dress look lengthy! It’s OK. I can pull it off…

Bohemian Friends

Check out Serena’s dress. She’s tall and the lines enhance her long limbs & long hair. Totally pretty! Not to mention her hair’s very 70’s like. The whole long blonde hair & with that side bangs clip in the back look– it’s so laid back. I’m growing my hair out…

I’ll update later. I need to check out where these outfits are coming from. If you want to view fashion from GG, check it out:  Serena Style

until next time. I’m glad to be back.

Happy Aloha Tuesday.

For those news junkies out there, lot’s have been happening in these Hawaiian Islands.  First, Hurricane Felicia turned to Tropical Storm, turned trpopical depression (how sad).  how intersting to those who were ready and packed for a storm to arrive in the O’ahu state.  Negative though… sorry Kama’aina!

Other than that, remember how I mentioned that you need to reap what you sow, HALLELUJIA, I got the internship at KGMB9 news station.  This is how great God is.  Seriously, if you dream big enough & follow through with what you believe in, God will most def give you the desires of your heart.  I have always desired to to work in a news station or be amungst those who do work in a news setting.  It’s amazing working here and sitting among news anchors and producers.  This seriously is a team effort when doing the news.  Everyone works together and does things FAST and accordingly.  It’s amazing for sure…

Currently: this is my second day at KGMB and I reccomend following @kgmb9 & @i9news on twitter.  they are an amazing set of updating news.  I refresh all the time to see what’s up. But then again, Iman the @i9news on twitter for the station, so I probably should know the news that’s happening in O’ahu.

Just did the 5 p.m. news! Twitter feeds are amazing when dialogue is being held through twitchat! Today’s i9news question was: “Tweeps! GENERAL MOTORS CLAIMS IT’S NEW HYBRID CAR CAN GET 230 MILES/GAL. [i9Q:] Would you pay $40,000 FOR A CAR THAT GETS 230 MILES/GALLON?”

Lot’s of responses! I’m most def looking forward to more twitchat tomorrow at 4 p.m. It’s going to be insane depending on what the question is and how people respond!

BTW: I just cut the 5pm & 6pm news! It’s made for the web & will probably go up on web. Haven’t learned how to transcribe text yet, but in due time I will! I love it here…

Thanks KGMB! you are ONE OF THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT HAWAII…

YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED!

Who says you can’t just believe in what you want to believe.

I believe that I have a purpose in life & that purpose just so happens to make a career in journalism.  It’s funny because I never thought that I’d actually enjoy the newsroom so much.  Well, the past has lied.

This past Tuesday, (July 28, 2009) I had the opportunity to hangout and shadow those who work at KGMB9 News station.  This is what happens when you take full advantage of the benefits of Twitter! Thanks to the awesome KGMB staff on twitter, Candice Hirleman (@Chirleman), we stayed connected and definitely made the dream come true!  She gave me the opportunity to come down to the station.  Actually, she forwarded me an email address of someone who I could talk to:  Sheryl Ferido (Creative services Director)

I pretty much toured the studio, the set, marketing department, newsroom, editing room etc.  It was a whirlwind of discovery, but somewhere that I knew I could work at for the rest of my life OR SO.  I felt very star-struck because I met awesome news reporters & anchors.  Hollywood is Hollywood, but when it comes to news anchors here in Hawaii, I’m Sorry but scoot over Angelina Jolie, Liz Chun comes first!  I don’t need an autograph, but more so, just a handshake and a conversation on how they got there.  Regardless, I was in complete awe of how everyone worked.

I was more so entertained with how everything starts from just an idea & walah, IT’S A VIDEO, IT’S A STORY, and IT’S A NEWSCAST! とてもいいです!

It’s just nice in general to see that a nothing has been made into a something.  It went from small to big!  It’s always a nice sigh of relief to know that you started from nothing and ended up with a huge success.  It’s all about knowing that you did what you could to be apart of something big. TEAMWORK!  This business is all about individual work, but eventually a team effort.  In the end, it’s the satisfaction of finishing up that last finishing touch.  It’s been polished and now can be sent out!

In the process of this whole hullabaloo, I sat and chatted with Christi Young (news producer) who then educated me about a possible intern position at the studio.  Basically, I would be a web intern.  I’d be in charge of putting video up on the website, organizing twitter (@KGMB9) and 5 p.m. news questions via: (@i9news) on twitter.  It’s more of an interactive web responsibility.  Nowadays everything is on the web or furthermore, it’s about technology and finding a faster and efficient way to getting news out to the public and our immediate audience.  I am a firm believer in using the web as a media tool device.  Not everyone has the time to sit down at home and turn on the television, but can find a way to turn on their computers at work to watch a live webcast or read news via online articles or satellite videos.  It’s that generation…trust me.

Overall… spending 10:30 am – 6:30 p.m. at the KGMB9 news studio, turned out to be a successful and quite eye opening experience.  I can’t say anything except for the known fact that I want to go back and shadow more in depth.  This is where I’m supposed to be. My heart says so…

TWO MORE WISHES RIGHT? Haha

Xoxo

creative spots from the heart

Posted by: kaidelacruz on: July 19, 2009

So, I read a little blog from a friend of mine. Jena Sommer (Gamiao) Green… She’s beautiful.  So is her twin sister Jaymi (avril lavigne sister).

Remember how in my last blog, I blogged about friends from far and near… either way, I have friends from all types of spectrums.

It’s just fun seeing an updated post on Facebook and it just so happened to be a blog about a friends daughter.

French Fry Friend

Jena, hmm don’t think she knows I’m writing about her or anything, but we’ve been friends since 7th grade.  Though we both went to completely different elementary schools, we happened to be in some of the same classes and have similar friends.  The one memory I have of her really just sticks out.  Our 8th grade class was on a field trip at the bowling alley for cosmic bowling (glowing lights etc) and we were waiting for our food.  The cafe lady called out, “french fries”… 3 mins pass by and no one takes the fries. We wait a little longer and still no answer.  Jena just so happened to be in line and we both look at each other and go, is that yours? We both answer no… so I said you take it.  Jena did… and from that day on, I called her french FRY!

Well long story short, we’ve been friends ever since & since high school graduation, she’s (from what I’ve read) lived in CA, met a singer/songwriter & married him.  Beautiful wedding & now a beautiful little pebble baby… Evangeline!

Evie Announcement

She’s a beautiful little God given creation.  I’m just so blessed to have such creative friends from all types of places.  They appreciate the level of art excellence which requires inspiration from the heart.  Whether it’s singing, knitting, drawing, painting, or photography, I’ve just always had amazing friends.

I just cannot believe that we’ve all grown up together & now are getting married or having cute offsprings of our own.  NOT MYSELF INCLUDED, but many of my classmates have already done so.  It’s gorgeous and so wholesome.  Sooner than you know it, my classmates and I will be having our 10 year reunion (2013) and exchanging stories of success, love interests or remember when topics… I’m not looking forward to it yet because I haven’t yet reached that successful status.

It’s true I graduated from college and received my Bachelors, but what have I done with it? Nothing yet.  Its already ending of July, and I have not one single job.  I didn’t get the job in Omaha as Administrative Assistant because some tall caucasian guy whom we all know of as Jake Webb got it.  On that day, lots of smiley faces went SOUR.  I’m still attempting to keep the faith by applying to jobs left and right. Not too sure how far I will get, but I’ll be needing a job sometime soon. I most def have to pay off these student loans before I turn 80.  I basically have 67 years haha off of my random age payoff rate.  NOT GORGEOUS.

Well… just thought I’d write about more friendship memories. They kind of inspire me to find out who I am and maybe my true itch.  Perhaps I write about small kind time memories because I truly miss the days of careless freedom and the will to express myself regardless of talent.

GORG friends.

Hanabatta Keikis

Posted by: kaidelacruz on: July 17, 2009

For those of you who don’t know what Hanabatta is or perhaps you’re not from the islands (hawaiian) you lose out on that language barrier.  But that’s ok, because that basically means, “younger times” it’s an expression that we locals use here in Hawaii.

Hanabatta days meaning, When we were younger… has just re-surfaced for me.

I realized that through facebook and somewhat twitter, that elementary friends  kind of pop up out of nowhere.  It’s just funny adding them as a friend or following on twitter after not seeing or speaking to them since 6th grade.  I find it hilar when they add you.  I have to admit though, it’s a nice re touch of getting to know who you were when you were younger.  With that, my After school A+ director passed away from cancer.  I can recall the many sticks of cigarettes she would smoke during snack time or the times she would smoke before A+ started.  She always had a hoarse voice, but still a nice Japanese lady.  Her funerals 7 days after my grandpas funeral at the same place… Mauka chapel in Mililani cemetery.  Sigh…

Also, aside from emo news, I just read an article of a really good friend of mine since 4th grade.  Brooke Dombroski.  She’s been pretty much the same person since elementary except that much more creative… she’s lucky her dads a lifeguard and her moms creative period.  Check out the article written about her in Contrast Mag.

Brooke Dombroski

Brooke Dombroski

Good fun for this talented woman. She’s a current lover of the North Shore and have always been.  Her hearts been there since the day she first learned how to surf. Now she works for Hurley & Crush Sunglasses.  Amazing woman for sure.  (follow her on twitter: twitter.com/brooklynhawaii) get on that shabang SOON!

Also, speaking of North Shore, it all started as a tweet from Lea (@lerido).  She said, “I want shave ice, stortos, DQ blizzard and wendys. D:” This tweet kind of became a reality once we all agreed we were going to North Shore bound the following day.  The plan went from being hungry to, “lets go to the HE>i store, eat at stortos & get shave ice.”  What a TWITTER adventure this was for sure.  I’m still craving for an acai bowl! Gorgeous bowl of granola, hunny, acai & MANGO straight up from Kava Roots nextdoor to Foodland & starbucks! TA DIE FOR!

that about wraps up for what I have to say with “small time friends”

Mélange Jersey Pocket Skirt

OH, a friend of mine is going to stop by American Apparel in Las Vegas (he’s there for vacay) to buy me this PRETTY SKIRT that I’ve wanted for summer dress!

Angry of writing? Throw this…

Posted by: kaidelacruz on: July 16, 2009

this is random, but I figured I’d blog about it.

Draft 1? Draft 2? Trying to write a book? A novel? Write on this paper…

playmore1-773921

It’s something a little more stylish as far as notebook paper will go.  It’s literally a ball of some sort when crumpled!

I thought it was a good idea when the paper looks like this originally…

playmore3-720978

Feel free to just write and throw into a basket of fun!  I’m sure authors everywhere would not feel guilty throwing away their first ideas for a book or a magazine article.  THOUGH, I’d have to admit, I type more than I handwrite.  Not too sure which is fun as far as typing or writing, but for sure this paper idea is priceless!

Thanks creative juices!

I wont hesitate no more, no more this cannot wait… I WENT TO NEW YOOORK!

June 20, 2009

I left to New York City for 2 weeks. It was an amazing experience for those who would agree that NY is an amazing city.  I’ve never seen such crowded streets and focussed people in my lifetime.  These wonderful (and then again not so wonderful) people are in such a rush to be somewhere and meet someone, it’s such a crazy lifestyle.  I just like how the city is literally the city.  You hear horns being honked, people talking on their cel phones, hot dog kiosks wanting to be stopped at and noise amuck.  It’s nice to be around busyness like that once in a while.  Just to kind of step out of the box that I live in while in Hawaii.  Hawaii is so the opposite of city life; even Waikiki or downtown Honolulu cannot even begin compare to the  city life in Times Square.

I expected New York to be taxis and hot dogs, but never this busy.  I’ve been to shops left and right and up and down filled with I <3 NY shirts, hats, keychains and other fun paraphernalia available.  I’ve had to find the best bargains that I could find for a simple T-shirt– basically I found a shirt for $9.99, which of course I took because I wasn’t about to walk all through broadway to find a shirt cheaper.  I found $1.00 key chains that said I <3 NY on them.  My mother convinced me to buy 20 of them for my friends at home– I did.  In that one store, I bought at least $60 of fun merchandise for my mom, sisters & friends.  What a way to spend vacay money.  I hope you liked your gifts.

I enjoyed watching Alter Boyz on broadway. It wasn’t a traditional broadway play, but it was really funny. I admit though, I fell asleep through parts because basically being out all day on your feet is very tiresome.  But thanks, Matthew, Mark, Luke and Juan for giving me that 1.5 hours of pure “biblical” entertainment. ROCK ON!  I really truly wanted to watch Avenue Q or Wicked, but my rents’ wanted to watch Jersey Boys.  We basically compromised by watching Altar Boyz because it was recommended by those who already watched it.  I didn’t pay, so who was I to argue with the tickets…

Aside from the BIG APPLE and Times Square goodness, being in the Empire State Building was amazing. Talk about setting your sights high… overlooking the cityscape from the observatory deck was pure glory.  I could see Times Square, Chrysler building, golden towers and NY bridges.  I believe that NY has a beautiful cityscape.  One things missing though, or should I say a couple of things were missing, World Trade Center Towers.  Sadly, the towers are missing and will not be rebuilt. I went to ground zero and saw that what once used to be remains but a flat plain of construction and perhaps missing people till this day.  It’s such a tragedy, but a remembrance of those who lost their lives.  Right across the street from the Twin Towers is a church.  In that church there are memorials of those who are still missing and those who gave their lives to help others in need.  It was such an inspiration to see that their lives are kept in memory regardless of this tragedy. BEAUTIFUL. In the church, a cute little choir from North Carolina performed.  That was also very beautiful… thank you choir.

I’ll write again about goodness in NY City & to come Cooperstown.  And perhaps the last leg of our trip to Las Vegas. Glory… Oh Glory…

till we meet again

xoxo

BE THE CHANGE– START A REVO

Check out the Video!

Revolution 09 Promo Video – Brian from Jessie Domingo on Vimeo.

Totally. Werd up!

Sometimes you can’t live just any ordinary/normal life– you have to be the EXTRAORDINARY person.  You should be the Mother Teresa in someones life.  The, Princess Diana to someones child. Or The road to getting to know Jesus.

Sunday, June 7, 2009
Kalae George, a great disciple of Grace Bible Church in Hawaii did a little service about just that.  Remember, you can make the change, not only with others but yourself as well.  GO.

Encouragement for the wise! Get in shape! Run 1 mile at least everyday! I ran for the first time in about a month & it was amazing. Though, my legs were all itchy because I’m not used to running and my heart rate went up fast.  It was nice to just run into the sunset! I stopped by a park near by (Holouma elem.) to do some abs & 30 sec elbow raises. OUCH! But very much needed ouch.  I walked home to cool off & lifted 10 LB free weights in my driveway.  I gotta stay on track with my fitness program.

Psst:  did i mention as i was running, I seen Danz.  A friend of mine, while at a traffic light, she stopped me from running to say hello. I love seeing old friends. Same thing last night: Courtnee.  Friend from high school! Amazing friend & great to be around. We’re having dinner next week.

BE THE CHANGE. MAKE WAVES!

Oi! So in the last week 1/2 I’ve been doing errands errands!  I have come to realize that while doing errands…(lost train of thought)

How I know I’m old:
Patrick: (looking at my pictures in digi) Wow is that Kellise? last time i saw her she was all tom boy… now she’s… PRETTY.

Me: wow… yah I taught her how to dress sorta…

Kellise graduated about 2 weeks ago from Mililani High School.  Shocked that all the three sisters are out from hs.  Though, this year we all graduate from some educational institute.  I graduated with my BA from Creighton, Kiana with her Associates from Hilo Community College & Kellise from Mililani High School.  It just doesn’t get better than this!

To update on the life of me:  I applied to yet another job at Creighton University.  Administrative Assistant  I was referred to the job by the person who posted it.  You all see, I used to work in that student center for 3 years while in college.  They all know me by now and should know my working habits. let’s hope I get the job. THEN AGAIN, that means I’d have to move back to Nebraska. GOOD LORDY! home, home on the range… It’s a job though & I’d sure miss living here in O’ahu. sigh… home.

I also gave my writing samples/video reel to Dianne Seo, Metromix producer at the Honolulu Advertiser! I gave her my portfolio the same day I PICKED UP MY FREE TICKETS FOR THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS DOMINATION TOUR! Thanks to @metromix808 on twitter (feel free to follow) I entered a contest and got pulled out the hat! AMEN! I never win anything! Basically, THANK YOU HONOLULU ADVERTISER for giving me FREE PCD TICKETS, letting me drop off my portfolio & being amazing. On top of that, I might and probably will have a chance to hangout at the @KGMB9 news studio! oh the love in that one!  See I gotta hang in there…

Update on life thusfar. I’m not as close to the prize as I’d like to be, but I know in due time a blessing in disguise will pop up! GARANS!

BTW: jumpers/overalls are back in style. It’s a SUMMER must have.

Get on it Ladies! Gotta show them legs & get a tan! nevermind wearing those long pants, get some sun in while you can!
